DETAILED ITINERARY:
Day 1: Ha Noi – Lao Cai
At 8:00 PM, we’ll pick you up from your hotel in Hanoi and take you to the Hanoi railway station to catch the Express Train to Laocai. You’ll spend the night in an air-conditioned soft sleeper wooden cabin, which can accommodate either four or two passengers per cabin, depending on your preference.
Day 2: Laocai – Sapa – Ta Van Village: 5 hours trekking, 14 km, 3 villages (B,L,D)
At 6:00 AM, upon your arrival at Lao Cai train station, your friendly local guide and driver will greet you warmly. They’ll escort you to your hotel in Sapa, where you can enjoy a delicious breakfast and take some time to relax. Once you’re ready, hop aboard a jeep for a scenic ride into the valley. You’ll traverse the Muong Hoa River and explore three charming mountainside villages inhabited by the H’mong and Dzay people. Enjoy a delightful picnic lunch along the way. Later, you’ll dine and experience a homestay in the welcoming community of Tavan village.
Day 3: Ta Van – Ban Ho 7 hours trekking, 18 km, 3 villages (B,L,D)
After a satisfying breakfast served by a local family, we’ll head to a village nestled at the foot of the Hoang Lien Son range, passing through bamboo forests. Along the way, we’ll visit a waterfall and a rattan bridge. Next, we’ll explore Giang Ta Chai village before crossing the river to reach SuPan village, home to the H’mong and Red Dzao minorities. From there, we’ll trek downhill to Ban Ho village, where you’ll spend the night in a stilt house with a Tay family. Enjoy a simple picnic lunch en route, and end the day with a homely dinner and homestay in Ban Ho village.
Day 4: Ban Ho – Sapa 3 hours trekking of 7 km and 23 km by jeep. (B,L,D)
After sharing breakfast with the family, we’ll depart the village to marvel at a breathtaking waterfall, once uncovered by the French. Prepare to be captivated by the stunning vista and perhaps take a refreshing swim in the crystalline waters. Upon returning to Ban Ho, you’ll have the opportunity to engage with the villagers before bidding farewell to the family. We’ll then journey back to the main road, where a jeep will await to transport us back to Sapa. Enjoy lunch along the way, and later, savor a delicious dinner at a local restaurant. Rest for the night at your selected hotel in Sapa, reflecting on the day’s memorable experiences.
Day 5: Sapa – Lao Cai – Ha Noi (B)
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, followed by a relaxing morning at your own pace. Check-out time is at noon, giving you some free time before your departure. Lunch will be at your own expense, allowing you the flexibility to choose your preferred dining option. Later in the day, you’ll be transferred to Lao Cai train station to catch the Express Train back to Hanoi, departing at 20:15 and arriving at 5:00 the next morning. As the journey concludes, we bid you farewell, marking the end of your enriching 5-day tour of Sapa, Ta Van, and Ban Ho.
