DETAILED ITINERARY:
Sleeping bus Hanoi – Ha Giang
In the evening, at 19:00am, you will be picked up by a sleeping bus from your hotel in the Old Quarter of Hanoi to depart for Ha Giang. You will arrive in Ha Giang at 4:00am the following day.
Day 1: Ha Giang – Quan Ba – Yen Minh – Dong Van (140 km – B,L,D)
After getting some rest in a free dormitory until 7:00am, you will have breakfast at 8:00am and meet your tour guide to begin the tour. Our guide/driver will pick you up at your hotel in Ha Giang, and then depart to Dong Van.
You will drive on undulating terrain, between 800m and 1,500m in height, through beautiful mountainous landscapes and terraced paddy fields. You will have some stops for taking photos and visit Heaven’s Gate, Bac Sum Pass, and Fairy Mountain. In the afternoon, you will visit some villages on the way and see the Vuong Chi Sinh’s Palace, a King of H’mong hill tribe before arriving at Dong Van, where you will check in at the hotel/homestay and have some free time to discover the small ancient town.
Day 2: Dong Van – Lung Cu Flag Pole – Ma Pi Leng Pass – Meo Vac (130 km – B,L,D)
After breakfast, you will take a stroll around one of the most interesting local markets – Dong Van Market in the morning then do a short trek to Don Cao, an ancient fortress built by French people during wartime to control the area. You will then head to visit Lung Cu Flag Pole, which is the top point of Vietnam.
After that, you will take a short walk to visit Lo Lo Chai, a village of the Lo Lo people, one of Vietnam’s least-common ethnic minorities only living in this region. You will then drive to Ma Pi Leng Pass, arguably the most beautiful landscape in Ha Giang and Vietnam. You will arrive at Meo Vac, where you will check in at the hotel/homestay and have some free time to experience the life of the local people there.
Day 3: Meo Vac – Lung Phin – Ngam La – Du Gia (120 km – B,L,D)
After breakfast, you will take a short walk to visit Meo Vac Market, and then keep going to Nho Que river to take a boat trip on the river to see the spectacular landscape of Ma Pi Leng alley.
You will continue driving through Lung Phin to get to Ngam La, where you can see very beautiful mountainous landscapes and terraced paddy fields. You will arrive in Du Gia, where you will check in at the homestay and do a short walk (5km) to visit a village of black H’mong and swim at Du Gia waterfall. You will return to the homestay in the late afternoon.
Day 4: Du Gia – Lung Ho – Lung Tam – Nam Dam – Ha Giang (130 km – B,L)
After breakfast, you will depart to visit Lung Ho Pass, known as the second of Ma Pi Leng. You will then keep going to visit a White H’mong village that specializes in flax weaving. On the way back to Ha Giang, you will visit one more traditional beautiful village of black Dao, where you can do a short walk around to see the beautiful village. You will arrive in Ha Giang in the late afternoon.
At 16:30pm, you will take a sleeping bus back to Hanoi. You will arrive in Hanoi at around 23:30pm. The tour ends here.
There is another option for a return bus at 19.00pm. You will arrive at 4.00am the next day.
