DETAILED ITINERARY:
Sleeping bus Hanoi – Ha Giang
Day 0: You will be picked up at 20:00 at your hotel in Hanoi’s Old Quarter by a comfortable sleeping bus, which will depart for Ha Giang. You will arrive around 04:00am and have a some time to rest before the tour starts.
Day 1: Ha Giang City – Pac Sum Pass – Heaven Gate – Tam Son – Yen Minh – Tham Ma pass – H’mong King palace – Dong Van (L,D)
Our team will pick you up from your hotel, hostel, or any meeting point in Ha Giang, including the bus station, for the start of our tour.
As we begin our journey, just a few kilometers outside of Ha Giang City, you’ll witness a dramatic change in scenery as we head into the mountains towards Tam Son.
We will cross the stunning Bac Sum Pass and ascend to Heaven Gate, where you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the Twin Mountains and the entire Tam Son town. Our journey continues to Yen Minh, where a delicious lunch awaits.
After lunch, we’ll drive towards Dong Van, passing through the picturesque Chin Khoanh Pass. The entire Dong Van Karst Plateau is a significant geo-heritage site in Vietnam, offering endless rice fields, towering limestone rocks, and awe-inspiring views.
Along the way, you’ll have the chance to observe the life of local hill-tribe villages as they work the land. We can also take you to the Chinese border and the famous northernmost viewpoint in Vietnam. Before reaching Dong Van, we’ll stop at the Hmong King’s Palace, the former home of the Vuong family in Sa Phin.
Day 2: Dong Van Town – Ma Pi Leng Pass – See over view Nho Que river- Meo Vac Town – M Road – Mau Due Valley – Du Gia Village (B,L,D)
After a delicious breakfast, we’ll depart from Dong Van Town for what is considered the most beautiful part of the journey. Our open-air Jeep tour will take you along the legendary Ma Pi Leng Pass, situated on the Happiness Road connecting Dong Van and Meo Vac.
Renowned for its rugged cliffs and breathtaking views, Ma Pi Leng Pass is often called the “king” of Vietnam’s mountain passes, towering at an altitude of 2,000 meters. The winding road offers stunning vistas as it snakes through the cliffs.
To fully appreciate the pass, we’ll take you down the awe-inspiring Sky Path, where you can admire the sweeping views of the entire valley and the Nho Que River. From this incredible mountain viewpoint, you’ll experience a 360-degree panorama of Ma Pi Leng Pass, perfect for capturing unforgettable photos. Standing at the peak, you’ll be immersed in the majestic scenery of mountains and rivers.
Our journey will then continue to more remote villages, where you’ll gain insight into the lives of people in these distant parts of Vietnam. We’ll pass through the villages of Lung Ho, Mau Due, and Meo Vac, where we’ll stop for lunch and refreshments.
From Meo Vac Town, we’ll venture further into the mountainous trails of Ha Giang province, heading towards Du Gia Village. This picturesque village is home to seven different ethnic minorities, each contributing to its vibrant cultural tapestry. We’ll spend the night at a homestay with a Tay minority family, where you can enjoy a traditional dinner and share a toast of “happy water” with the family.
Day 3: Du Gia – Duong Thuong Village -Terrace paddies Valley – Bac Me National road – Ha Giang City – Hanoi (B,L)
After breakfast and bidding farewell to our homestay hosts, we’ll hop back into our open Jeep to continue our journey. Though it’s our last day, the stunning landscapes and natural beauty will continue to amaze you as we make our way back to Ha Giang.
But the adventure isn’t over yet! After about two hours of driving, we’ll arrive at a famous valley known for its breathtaking rice terraces. As we cross through Nam Cang Village, you’ll be treated to mesmerizing views that some describe as resembling fairy’s breasts!
After passing through Sky Gate, we’ll reconnect with the Bac Me national road. Following an exhilarating ride, we’ll return to Ha Giang in the afternoon, perfectly timed for your onward journey.
Whether you choose to catch a bus or limousine back to Hanoi in the afternoon, or opt for a night bus, the choice is yours, depending on your schedule and plans after the tour.
